I’m not a recipe girl .. in fact I could think of nothing worse then writing out what I make … literally my fingers are cramping now anticipating a recipe documentation .

HOWEVER .. this concoction was worthy of a share .

as a non-dairy lady who cant eat coconut (hey swollen face!) my ice-cream availability is limited .

By no means is this a free pass to butter EVERYTHING . but if you must . avoid margarine at all costS and paste on some ORGANIC fresh buttery goodness.

I have a feeling  I don’t even need to detail this one anymore , last year fermenty goodness was all the rage . Whether Kombucha, sauerkraut, Kvaas, miso, tempeh or kefir was your crack . Anyone into  the healthy living thing (basically everyone) was consuming fermented foods like a fat kid at  a pick n’ mix.

Sweetness Of The Day .. Rude Health

I love when a company does it right and I also love a Dairy Free Milk Alternative .. in fact I think I have tried every brand under the sun ..Ii dont think actually I know , I carry rice milk in my bag at all times .YES I AM THAT LAME!.

So its pretty important when I find a brand that does a delicious one .. thats organic, with few ingredients and kind of funny!

yes it exists .. I recently came across Rude health ( a health food company noted for its cereals and granola) they’ve branched out into milk alternative drinks . and they are great . good for the earth,body and mind . most notably they are one of the only almond milk brands that doesn’t contain CARRAGEENAN an additive that has shown to be cancer causing (WTF ! I KNOW ) along with gastrointestinal issues .. its best just avoided (CLICK HERE FOR FULL INFO) .

As for the rice milk , its the only brand i’ve come across in the UK that uses Brown Rice, so you’re getting a wholegrain .. a WHOLE FOOD !! which is lower Gi (sugary basically) than white rice and more nutritious ! it also means it is broken down by the body easier . can I get a WHOOP WHOOP !

BREAKFAST SWAPS … A Porridge To Dribble At (SAY WHAATT!!)

Breakfast seems like the hardest meal . probably because unhealthy breakfasts are so quick , easy and familiar . and because its the morning we tend to function mostly on autopilot . 

ALOT of people , basically everyone i speak to is always like WTF do i eat for breakfast !?!?!?1? 

so here we go .. i think its really important to start the day off alkaline , because your beautifully intelligent body has just spent all night working hard at healing, detoxing and alkalising our insides (so busy !) no wonder we’re tired when we wake up , our tiny body elves are pooped (head visualised little huffing tummy elfs i know ) 

`ANYWAY ..

Scrambled Eggs 

although yes protein is great , eggs can be quite acidic and retardedly (not real word) taxing on the digestive tract .. not to mention the butter vibes to make a good scramble situation . so for a little change up

Yacon syrup comes from the yacón plant and was used heavily by the INCAS it has plentiful nutritional properties and few calories alongside low sugar levels. yacón roots have been eaten by people with diabetes and digestive, renal problems .

its low in calories because the yacon contains up to 50% FOS (fructooligosacharides) consuming it  doesnt increase blood glucose (hence its diabetic friendliness) like every other sugar , fructose or glucose …and is instead a form of dietary fibre and sugar polymer both not absorbed by our bodies but instead  regulates good intestinal flora and boosts the immune system by feeding the probiotic bacteria( GOOD STUFF- NOT JUST IN YOGURT) .

It is usually made similarily to maple syrup using an evaporator and tastes similar to molasses , or caramelised sugar

GROSS WIKI FACT: In a study by Genta et al. it was shown that a daily intake of yacon syrup produced a significant decrease in body weight, waist circumference and body mass index when given to obese pre-menopausal women

I drink hot water with lemon … every morning .. I have no idea why , its like one of those things you just do because someone is like – it detox’s you .. so you just do it to tick the boxes.
I actually think I learnt this from Halle Berry in an interview when I was about 14 … which goes to show how influential pretty women can be .. good for the Berry , good for me I guess.
Anyway I do love doing it , I feel like its spruces ma gooses and gets me going , especially since I’ve now quit caffeine my lemony friends are very welcome in the morning .. so why is it so good ?

warm water is a gastrointestinal stimulator .. I really feel I don’t need to elaborate .. but stuff be moving
alongside the hot water the lemon loosens toxins on the gastrointestinal tract wall and aids in flushing them out.
Pectin Fiber : 
helps fight hunger cravings , which is why lemons are always touted as weight loss aids. but it also  reduces blood cholesterol levels

we’ve all heard of them .. or fish oil supplements *gag*

i had a feeling i wasnt getting enough of them due to an anti fish diet and not too nutty about nuts (plus you have to eat a butt load of walnuts to get adequate amounts )

So why do we need them .. and why they needn’t (thank jebus)  come from fish

1. the body cant produce them itself .. poor body

2.the brain is made largely of fatty acids- therefore its literally feeding your brain grapes 

3.needed component in cell membranes 

4. overall immune health 

5.prevent allergies

6. needed by the adrenal glands tissues (weight control and energy) and recently have been found to block genes that produce fat in the body

So easter is coming and everyones like CHOCOLATE!!!! *devil eyes included*

and then you arrive back after the long weekend .. and think jesus (how fitting) i ate more chocolate than the weight of all the children in the easter egg hunt combined .

lucking The Rawtarian (great site) gives us a Raw Chocolate ( dont run its good) that is so easy to make . And you can feel a little less guilty for making it ..plus it has the simplest ingredients list on earth :
